We have a situation! is a series of live, trans-border, online-offline participatory performances addressing current cross-cultural European issues. During the first quarter of 2013, networked performances will take place at local venues and simultaneously in the online platform UpStage, sharing stories across European national borders and posing questions that creatively frame a specific situation.
The first situation takes place in London and online, on Saturday 23 March at 2pm UK time. Find your local time here, and click here to enter the stage.
The London situation is hosted by Furtherfield and addresses the problem of e-waste, in collaboration with local recycling/fixing/making project Bright Sparks. Media artist Tom Keene, WHAS lead artist Helen Varley Jamieson and artists from APO33 (France) and Schaumbad Freies Atelierhaus (Austria) will work with local participants to research the issue and create the performance.
On Saturday 23rd March the online performance of 20-30 minutes length will be followed by a facilitated discussion with the online audience, and an audience at kunstGarten Graz, with the aim of generating creative possible solutions to the e-waste situation.
