We encourage you to enter a few minutes early to be sure everything has loaded before we start.

It will be a hybrid performance, with a proximal audience with Eva Ursprung in Sankt Polten, Austria, at 25 Years – 25 People. This event celebrates the existence since 1998 of Mur.at, the free art and culture server in Graz, Austria, and is organised within the DigiDic project of IMA. Eva Ursprung will create live improvised electronic music and Helen Varley Jamieson will perform with text and visuals in UpStage, drawing together material generated throughout the Mobilise/Demobilise project.

Mur.at has supported UpStage and Mobilise/Demobilise in both small and big ways. It provides hosting and email services for our partners in Graz – Schaumbad Freies Atelierhaus Graz and KiG! – as well as for many of the individual participants who are based in Graz. Mur.at hosted an artist talk and presentation about Mobilise/Demobilise and UpStage which has created one of the video documentation outcomes, and organised an UpStage workshop for their members.

Most importantly, in collaboration with the UpStage development team, an UpStage instance has been installed on Mur.at’s servers for their members to use for their own performances. This has provided a test case for independent Uptage installations, so that the development team can identify what documentation and support needs to be provided for others to be able to install their own UpStage servers.

The performance on 23 August takes place in St. Pölten, Austria, as part of DigiDic SummerWorkshop – Community toolbox, with workshops and presentations, and is followed by a DJ. For anyone wanting to join online, it’s difficult to give a precise time for the show as it will be the last of 25 of live events. It should begin not much after 22:00 CET. A link to the stage will be here on the day.
