did you know that there was a recent fundamental change to the way geographical maps are produced in aotearoa nz?
have you heard of the transverse mercator?
have you considered the myriad of ways we position ourselves using numbers?

vicki smith, in her work in education, traverses great distances to generate learning communities through physical and virtual presence; and both she and helen varley jamieson as roving cyberformers travel even further.

In this work, which will be realised as a show for the 4th annual festival of cyberformance 101010 they examine the detail and ways in which people locate themselves and each other.

There will be a public launch of the journey and discussion of the project at 10am [NZ time] Sunday 21st March [https://upstage.org.nz:8084/stages/x].

This work is supported by Aotearoa Digital Arts as part of the ElectroSmog Festival [https://www.electrosmogfestival.net/] find your local time here [https://tinyurl.com/ydnrfws]
