Now that things are getting busy in the build-up to 101010, we won't try to hold any open walk-throughs until November. The open walk-through is an opportunity for newcomers to learn the basic operations of UpStage and how to create live online performances in this platform. It's also a chance for regular UpStage users to meet, chat and jam. The walk-through lasts between one & two hours & is a fun, informal way to get a feel for the medium. Join the announcements list to get email notification of walk-throughs and other events. To attend an open session as a "chatter" (audience member), follow this link at the time of the session (you can also go there now to check out a sample stage, but there may not be anyone else there). Audience members participate in performances via the text chat function. Tech UpStage is intended to be compatible with all major browsers on all major operating systems; you must have the free Flash player plug-in installed. If you have problems, please let us know. Audience members on dial-up can still enjoy UpStage, however you should allow plenty of time for the stage to load. Once it has loaded, you may experience slightly more lag than broadband users, but in general you should have a similar experience. If you are behind a firewall and get a blank screen when you try to load a stage, you need to open ports 8084 and 7230-7233. |
