UpStage version 2 was officially launched on 28 June 2007, with a function at the New Zealand Film Archive and the opening of a two-week exhibition.

The beta version of UpStage 2 (UpStage 1.99) was released on Monday 30 April 2007.
This version contains many new features, as well as fixing bugs and enhancing the stability of the software.
New features include:
drawing: a palette of tools that allows players to draw on the stage in real time;

[ June 28, 2007 to July 15, 2007. ] UpStage 2 was officially launched on 28 June 2007, with an event at the NZ Film Archive, Wellington, NZ. This event also opened an exhibition that will run until 15 July, and incorporate the 070707 festival of performances in UpStage.

The alpha version of UpStage 2 is now available to download from SourceForge. It’s also live on the
UpStage server, so if you’ve been participating in open sessions and performances before now you will notice some changes. Most of the bugs from UpStage 1 have beenfixed, plus there are new features like whispering, animated avatars [...]
